Children are the future and ensuring their well-being is fundamental to a thriving society. World Children's Day marks the day in 1989 that the UN General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child, an international treaty setting out children's rights all over the world.
To mark the day, we are at the Gathering Place in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where inventive playgrounds sit side-by-side with green spaces and scenic trails. Play is an important part of childhood and the park's adventure playground is designed to appeal to children at different stages of development, and with different physical abilities. With its creative tunnels, towering treehouses, twisted slides, play gardens, and water areas, children can explore, learn, and let their imaginations soar.
